DAY 18
May 24, 2019
Pops woke up at 3:15 a.m. for his daily meditation practice. As he settled into his sitting position, he slowed down his thoughts. His goal was to sit quietly for 20 minutes, for the first part, and to only listen to the sound current. After completing this segment, he allowed the thoughts to come in and the images to enter his imagination. He knew that he had only 18 days left of his 180 day story that he was writing with Kma. During the previous 161 days, he had spent a lot of time imagining a better world and these sessions felt good to him. He realized he had a rich collection of heroes lined up ready to go forward into the world to make it a better place. Not only that, but he had developed a 1,000 year vision with actual web domains in place to help carry the vision forward along with a gift for Freedom. He was ready to work with the world, but he didn’t know how. He had kept to himself much of his life because he was driven to discover his purpose. He had very few people he could call friends. He closest friend was his wife, Kma. In their 8 years together, they not only discussed many philosophical, spiritual, and religious topics, but they read many books and watched hundreds of videos together of their favorite speakers. Pops felt an obligation to go forward with all he had discovered, but he didn’t know how. What is the value of having all this wonderful information on his website but no audience to receive it? Perhaps it was all for his own spiritual understanding. Perhaps his next step was to find some forgotten school down in South America where he could work as teacher, webmaster, school principal, and probably janitor and handyman. It would be located close to a beach or lake where he could enjoy his favorite sport of windsurfing. He could improve his Spanish and discuss the latest songs by Danit and also learn from local Shamans. He could go to Costa Rica or Peru, but what about Kma? She had her children and grandchildren in the United States and didn’t want to be too far from them. She wasn’t a big fan of the humidity in Costa Rica either. “Could we work out a compromise?” he wondered. He felt like a job down is South America was almost like a giving up. When he heard Xander’s lyrics about not leaving anyone behind, it was the encouragement he needed to go on. Pops wanted the Global Goals to be a movement. In his imagination, he saw the Global Goals being a way to connect peoples all across the world. It gave them a chance to share something, other than the weather. He talked to many people when he was in Boston and no one seemed to know about the Global Goals. The same was true when he was in Washington and in Arizona. Even though Pops posted one entry a day on their website, after 160 days he saw it was quite a wealth of information and it was not easy to convey to anyone in just 30 seconds. It seemed he was living in an era where people didn’t have enough time to consider a brighter possibility because they were flooded with information and so many others vying for the attention and imaginations of others. The previous night probably had to be the height of Pop’s feeling of resignation. Perhaps instead of pursuing his dream of a better world, he would just tuck away quietly into some corner of the world, never to be heard of again. He started to consider looking at job opportunities in education and would have to pull out his resume hidden between a bunch of ones and zeroes on his computer. During his morning meditation, his thoughts came around again to Marianne Williamson, a presidential candidate for the 2020 US Presidential race. Pops didn’t want to become a central figure. He had always enjoyed working behind the scenes like he did in a religious capacity or in serving the students, parents, and teachers of schools he worked at, something he thoroughly enjoyed. When he left his last school principal job in July 2018, a void developed in his heart. He was no longer working with others, serving a greater cause, but when he committed himself on December 10, 2018, to write every day about the Global Goals, it once again gave him a sense of purpose. Now with 161 days completed and only 19, left, he began to wonder if all his work on their four websites was just a big waste of time. He realized that while he was fine with the writing and posting on their website, but he was terrible with sales and marketing. He didn’t know what to do next. Four years had gone by and much of the world didn’t seem to know about the Global Goals. This was his chance to bring the Global Goals to life and he felt he did an excellent job with the websites, but he knew that people just don’t find websites out of the billions of pages that exist in the world. Pops wanted to connect in a meaningful way with as many as he could. Time was running out. Pops realized that much of what Marianne was advocating was exactly his understanding of reality and she already had a movement going. Could he connect with Marianne’s movement? After his meditation, he joined Kma in bed and they shared insights they gained during meditation. Pops enthusiastically told Kma about Marianne and his idea of being part of something even larger. She was receptive to the idea. They were both already on her mailing list. They had both given a small donation to help boost her standing. Pops googled quotes from Marianne and he liked what he found. She was speaking his language. "Unforgiveness is like drinking poison yourself and waiting for the other person to die." "Nature is infinitely creative. It is always producing the possibility of new beginnings." "An enchanted love, an awakened love, between two people is a blessing on the entire world." "Anytime you try to be a loving person, you're doing your part to save the world." "In the absence of love, we began slowly but surely to fall apart." “We do not heal the past by dwelling there; we heal the past by living fully in the present.” “Love is about letting go the fears that stand in front of our hearts.” “Ego says, “Once everything falls into place, I’ll feel peace.” Spirit says, “Find your peace, and then everything will fall into place.” "It doesn't take money to turn off the television and cultivate real bonding time." Pops and Kma, inspired further by her teachings, searched her campaign website to see how they could help. “It is time for an era of Miracles and for love to return,” Pops thought. He felt centered once again with a new sense of direction. Although he had many ideas about what he would do if he were president, it was never in the cards for him to take on that role, but he could easily and eagerly support someone who was aligned with her view of reality. This would definitely give his life amplified meaning and purpose. Pops also went on to the GeniusU website and connected with a few community leaders. Perhaps they could help him with the 2030 ideas on his website. As clicked on one GeniusU Leader’s page, he came across a commencement speech by Denzil Washington and watched it. Pop’s was inspired and water leaked from his eyes. “These are the kind of people I want to see as heroes in 2030,” Pops thought. “I will definitely post this on our website today.” Pops was also encouraged by the new Prime series coming out called “Good Omens.” He was happy to see that someone was able to make light of this subject, the same way he was able to do so in his book he had written many years earlier called, “Declaration of the Antichrist.” It seemed all the pieces were coming together, and just like nature, he saw many possibilities of new beginnings. |
